The 80/20 Principle
The core concept here, the Pareto Principle, wasn’t new to me thanks to my statistics background. However, the real value of this book is seeing the principle brought to life through so many real-world cases. It explores the powerful idea that roughly 80% of results come from 20% of the effort. Richard Koch does a great job of demonstrating how this imbalance is present everywhere, from business revenue to personal productivity. It was a nice read that reinforces the importance of identifying and focusing on that “vital few” 20% to achieve more with less.
