I read this book before starting my mathematics bachelor’s, and it served as a great motivational primer on how to learn effectively. While it isn’t an overly dense read, its value lies in its practical, neuroscience-backed advice for practicing analytical skills. It introduces concepts like the brain’s ‘focused’ and ‘diffuse’ modes of thinking, which share some interesting parallels with the ideas in Kahneman’s ‘Thinking, Fast and Slow.’ I’d recommend it to anyone, even those already in a STEM field, as a useful tool for refining your learning process and tackling procrastination.
